Say Hello To Our Community Partners!

StreetBox’s mission is to save surplus food and to support local community organisations fighting food poverty.
We work with some amazing people and initiatives in London and thought we’d take the opportunity to share a little about them!

Made in hackney

Opened in 2012 as the UK’s first fully vegan community cookery school and charity, Made In Hackney inspires communities to grow, cook and eat more plants.

With a keen focus on health inequalities, food access and climate change, these interconnected issues drive their mission to bring about positive change within their communities, with the promotion of healthy, nutritious plant-based food at the centre of all they do.

better health bakery

Part of Hackney’s oldest independent mental health charity (The Centre for Better Health), Better Health Bakery is a social enterprise based in East London.

They provide work skills training placements for those recovering from mental ill-health in their Haggerston bakery, that then provides quality products and services for the local community.

Proceeds go towards supporting the charity’s work.

woodberry aid

Founded to meet the challenge of food poverty in their North London community, Woodberry Aid supports a variety of beneficiaries to become increasingly independent, confident and healthy by providing them with food parcels catered to their needs.

They believe their goal of food equality and zero hunger for their community will lead to a positive impact on their local economy, standard of education, overall health and social development.

edible london

With a focus on food education and regenerative local farming, Edible London aims to redefine our relationship with food.

They take disused and derelict urban spaces and create beautiful edible gardens and growing spaces. They also promote the saving of surplus food and ways to achieve zero waste through supporting food banks and community cook up partners.

Their goal is a revolution towards a fair food economy in which food is available and accessible to all, while fostering resiliency in their communities.

There are so many organisations in London (and beyond) that are doing amazing work to support their local communities to eat well, and educate others about the ways they can prevent waste.

By buying a StreetBox you are helping these organisations, and many others, with their work to end food poverty.

For every box bought we give the equivalent produce to our charitable partners to help them achieve their goals and support their local communities.
